CT Department of Labor, Partner of the American Job Center Network

The American Job Center (AJC) system provides universal access to a variety of labor exchange services such as job search assistance, job referral, and placement assistance for job seekers; reemployment services to unemployment insurance claimants; labor market information; an electronic job bank in CTHires (www.cthires.com); and recruitment services to employers with job openings. Other services include resume preparation assistance; job seeker assessment of skill levels, abilities and aptitudes; career guidance and counseling; job search workshops; referrals to training; and access to career center resources such as computers, resume paper, a copier and fax machine. Job seekers who are veterans receive priority referral to jobs and training as well as special employment services and assistance to address significant barriers to employment.  The AJCs also provide specialized attention and service to individuals with disabilities, migrant and seasonal farmworkers, ex-offenders, youth, and older workers.

MASC

Nationally certified training in the precision parts manufacturing area of Computerized Numeric Control (CNC).  Twelve week course which consists of 60 hours of Integrated Math, 60 hours of Blue Print Reading and 120 hours of Hands-On Training. Upon completion you will be certified by the National Institute of Metalworker Skills (NIMS) as a CNC Machinist.

The WorkPlace – Platform to Employment Reentry Program

Platform to Employment Re-Entry (CT Statewide program) provides individuals who are touched by the Criminal Justice system with work readiness, career development training, occupational training, and employment opportunities. The core of the training focuses on life skills and professional development training to enhance confidence and improve employment opportunities.
