About Us

CT Reentry Members

A centralized location to learn more about reentry resources, information and news in Connecticut. Find what you need to connect with vital services for successful reentry in your community. Everyone deserves a second chance with dignity.

As Connecticut’s prison population continues to decline, reentry supports become an integral part of one’s successful reintegration back into the lives of their children, families and communities. Reentry is complex as it touches on every aspect of a person’s life. Once an individual is released from prison, challenges can arise with finding assistance around basic needs, housing, employment, mental health and substance abuse supports, and other necessary resources. Identifying these resources, in a timely fashion, is critical to one’s overall success.

The purpose of this website is to centralize reentry resources here in Connecticut to make it easier for someone to navigate the system, find support and be successful when they return home to their families and communities. Start by joining a local roundtable near you or simply search through the resources listed on this website to find a supportive network of providers as well as a second chance.

Non-fiction COVID-19 Series

This web-based series is intended to highlight first-hand accounts from people who have been or are currently incarcerated. Testimonies can also come from those who are awaiting sentencing or are in halfway houses. We value your stories as well, if you are a friend or loved one who has been impacted by someone in the criminal justice system.

Our Reentry Strategy

The Reentry Strategy creates a recommended framework to guide comprehensive and coordinated policy development and service delivery systems for people transitioning from jail or prison to communities throughout the state, with the goals of reducing recidivism, improving public safety, saving and more efficiently using taxpayer dollars, and assisting people to return to and stay home.

The process to produce the Reentry Strategy was overseen by the CT Reentry Collaborative and the Institute for Municipal and Regional Policy in collaboration with Governor Malloy’s Office of Policy and Management’s Criminal Justice Policy and Planning Division, state and municipal justice system stakeholders, nonprofit provider organizations, victim and community advocates, and justice-involved people and their families.
